Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) use is common in children. Recent studies suggest that 50 to 70 per cent of
children with severe, chronic or recurrent conditions use some form of CAM.
In this article, Dr. Sunita Vohra of the University of Alberta examines the need to develop and support paediatric CAM
research in Canada.
She looks at the importance of evaluating the safety and efficacy of CAM as a therapeutic choice.
